Brazil for Thanksgiving?

George Hobica of Airfare Watchdog says on 10/19: "As we write, American and Delta are in a death match fare war from each other's hubs to Rio and Sao Paulo, Brazil. There is no telling how long this sale will last but it's been going on for several days."

"Here's the deal: Cincinnati, Atlanta and Salt Lake City (Delta's hubs) to these Brazilian destinations on American for $432 round-trip, complete travel buy December 9; $425 round-trip from Dallas and Chicago (American's hubs) on Delta, also through December 9. These fares are generally about half what other airlines are charging at the moment. Quoted fares are before taxes, which will add about $100 round-trip.
