You've been to Nowhere. Most student travelers have. You stopped there on your way to Vegas via Route 66 and had a great plate of huevos while the sun rose over the desert. It's that place you caught a ride near Burma when you thought you were stranded, and found new friends on the bus. It's anywhere you thought was no place that turned out to be someone's somewhere and someplace you never forgot. And Lonely Planet editor-at-large Don George wants to hear about it.
George is seeking original travel writing about Nowhere's you've been for publication in a new anthology, "Tales From Nowhere." Stories need to be 1000-3000 words in length. Rolf Potts reports, "Through stories widely varied in setting and situation, 'Tales' will celebrate and illuminate the fundamental truth that travel sometimes takes us places we never planned to go – and that those unexpected journeys can enrich and enlighten us in ways we never otherwise would have discovered." Read more about submitting your nowhere travel story here. Lonely Planet, guidebook publisher for indie travelers, also wants your "Bluelist" - win a chance to write for Lonely Planet for real.
