Student Travel New Year's Resolutions

A new year is an especially fine time to make student travel resolutions: in 2006, resolve to travel well, travel wisely and travel a lot. A few student travel new year's resolution ideas:

• Resolve to make travel plans this year, no matter how seemingly small -- any travel is a great adventure. Give some thought to local latitudes -- travel can be as simple as a bus trip to the next city or couch surfing across town.

• Resolve to get at least one piece of truly excellent travel gear.

• Resolve to keep a travel journal. You don't have to buy a special journal and you needn't be a "writer" to jot down memory-makers..

• Resolve to try a solo trip. Traveling solo is a tad scary at first -- who will help you? What if you get lost? To whom will you talk? You'll quickly get past those fears...

• Resolve to be more a traveler than a tourist.
