Clubbing in Cold Climes

Sunday January 22, 2006
When the subzeros set in, hot nightlife gets appealing. That rumor about what to do in Iceland? Part of it's true. And what's up after dark in Russia's most northern big city?

About has a new Guide to Eastern Europe, Kerry Kubilius, who speaks clubs fluently; she's put together a guide to St. Petersburg, Russia, after the sun sets.

Reykjavik's club scene is nutsy, but you've got a friend who will show you the way to go crazy. For $400 per six hour Friday or Saturday night tour, entrepeneur Jon Kari will take you and friends to the chillinest spots in Iceland's hottest city. Seems steep? Think about freezing in outdoor club lines (most covers are included in the fee, incidentally), and getting in quick on a VIP pass seems like a warm and fuzzy deal. Think, also, about how much dough you've wasted in the wrong nightspot; that won't happen with an experienced clubhopper along.

Kari's company, "Nightlife Friend," has recently expanded to cool Copenhagen and may eventually conquer the world. Check out the web site or email info @ nightlifefriend.is for all the info.
