Airplane Seat Details from Seat Guru

Friday February 10, 2006
I hopped on SeatGuru today to change my seat for an upcoming flight to Europe -- I was hoping for a bulkhead seat so I could stretch my legs before hitting the City of Light.

However, I'd forgotten that United assigns bulkhead seats to Business Economy class passengers -- and I'll be in coach.

Changing or choosing your seat to a bulkhead, a window, or a seat with a laptop plug is normally pretty easy -- Seatguru.com shows you airplane seat maps online so you can find whether your airplane seat is over the wing or next to a lavatory. If you dislike your seat assignment after checking your placement with Seat Guru, call the airline and request a seat change. Unless you want a bulkhead seat on United and you're on a student fare, of course; in that case, ask for a switch when you check in.

Once you begin looking into airplane seating, you'll find vast seat option choices. Seat Guru teaches you to look for amenities and in-flight services you might not consider - find answers regarding movies and seat pluses with a mouseover and walk through finding and changing your airplane seat, step by step.
