Travel Channel: World's Best Beaches

Friday February 10, 2006
Mobissimo, that great fare-finding site, spotted the Travel Channel's world's best beaches list today -- some interesting choices here; not neccesarily student travel hot spots but worth a wallow on the white sand. Many are associated with tremendously expensive places to stay, but are good for day visits. And budget lodging can be had within a hop or two of many of the top sweet sand choices. For instance, Negril, Jamaica, is on the list -- Negril's not cheap joint central but it does have some charming budget choices that will come in at around $25 if you've friends to split the tab. And Cancun, also on the list, offers terrific hostels for a palmful of pesos if you can live with a short bus ride from bunk to beach.
