What is an Exchange Student?

Friday February 24, 2006
It's time to be laying your plans if you want to be an exchange student next fall term. What's an exchange student? An exchange student is a high school or college student who travels abroad to live with a local family and attend local school, usually as part of an exchange program. The host family or the town in which the host family lives or the primary school which the exchange student attends usually receives or hosts international students through the same or similar programs; hence the "exchange."

AKA a great way to see another country via cultural immersion!
