Koh Phangan full moon fun Wednesday

Wednesday July 5, 2006
The lunacy-inducing phase of the lunar cycle is always a marvellous night for a moondance when on Koh Phangan -- the full moon means beach parties are the order of the evening for every backpacker in the house on this lovely Thailand island. Expect thousands-plus folks at the next happening of the long established and off-the-radar events Wednesday, two days after the true full moon because of conflicting timing with a Buddhist holiday.

Launch your Thai travel research from Travelfish.org, but stop by a new Koh Phangan website that's popped on to the radar courtesy of Californian Ella Evans, who writes that the Koh Phangan Experience Guide is for (a) "A firm backpacker, whose aim is to see more for less," and (b) "A cool partygoer, who never misses a good party" and (c) "...the spoiled tourist kind, one who likes to enjoy his trips without scarifying the comfort of western civilization hospitality."
