STA Black and Blue Student Airfare Sale Through December

Wednesday December 6, 2006
Student travel agency STA has hatched plans to continue offering the Blue Ticket sale they hosted on Black Friday through December 22 (I survived mall-madness Black Friday comfortably from my couch, thanks). The original Blue Ticket Black Friday meant a one-day airfare sale the grueling-shopping-day after Thanksgiving only, but STA says they want to be trendsetters in offering the discounted deals each Friday this month.

"Blue Tickets" are fairly flexible tix tfor full-time students over 12 holding ISIC cards or youth travelers under 26. Black and Blue tickets in the original sale included LA-Nairobi for $770 and Boston-London for $130, and this week will see student airfares like Boston-Paris for $170** . Not bad for a pretty good ticket.

With a Blue Ticket™, you can change your travel dates after you buy for a few bucks (ask before you buy), stay for up to one year, and get a refund (again, ask what that will be before you buy).

Remember to check taxes and fees (the **). The Black Friday Blue Ticket student airfare sale rules:

  • Fares available to travelers 12-26 years old or to valid ISIC cardholders (full-time students over 12 seeking a degree at an accredited university).
  • Tickets must be purchased and ticketed on sale day.
  • Departures must take place by March 31, 2007.
  • Holiday blackouts will apply (generally December 15-January 1).
