Top 10 Summer Music Festivals in Europe

Saturday March 3, 2007
Strike up the band -- summer music festivals in Europe are putting out the lineups, and bands from Artcic Monkeys to Scissor Sisters are crossing the continent for huge concerts. Several-day extravaganzas with camping, food and merriment mean you can cruise to a summer music festival and have a ready-made vacation with thousands of your closest new friends. Some summer music festivals that can top your list of to-do parties in Europe, like Sweden's Hultsfred Festival, are already selling tickets and biggies like Hungary's Sziget Festival will be confirming bands by the time you're ready to ice summer backpacking travel plans. Offset Festival is the most promising – 30 minutes from London in a beautiful forest, with some really, really cool bands. Info at http://www.offsetfestival.co.uk

Oxegen in Ireland is full of 16-18 year old Kiddies drinking for the first time. Sziget, Pukkelpop and Pinkpop are good, and Electric Picnic in Ireland didnt even get a mention. It has a better crowd and line up.

Been to benicassim the last two years 2007 was brilliant but 2008 was such disappointment. Full of seventeen year olds that had just finished school and well no offence but i may as well have been at a festival in England you would have been lucky to hear a Spanish accent in the place!
