A pal who's packing for a backpacking Europe trip says he's got the usual packing dilemmas (how much of what?) and wrote to say he read a packing tutorial and is heeding a tip:
"Try this test: put small items in the pockets of clothes you'll wear -- would you still want that stuff if you had to carry it on your body?"
Well, out goes the wireless mouse for his laptop -- he wouldn't take it if he had to carry it in a cargo pants pocket, no. Packing is an absolutely ruthless endeavor. Get the packing downlow yourself, and find out what you might be able to live without and how to carry it if you can't: Related stuff: How to Pack for Airport Security | About Packing Liquids and Gels | How to Avoid Lost Luggage | Backpacking Europe 101
