WYSTC: UK #1 Language Study Destination
Saturday October 13, 2007
News from the World Youth & Student Travel conference: ALTO, the Association of Language Travel Organizations, has released a new study naming top language study destinations: the UK comes in as number one for the third year running, followed by the US which has eclipsed Spain as the second hottest language learning destination.
Coincidentally, we're researching language schools in Spain right now as our new Student Travel intern, Nick, is headed to Spain November 20th for a few weeks of Spanish study, sun, and sightseeing. We've chosen don Quijote's one-week intensive (as opposed to super intensive) Spanish course starting in Granada as the jumping off place. Pretty easy gig: just show up on any given Monday, take a placement test, and start. don Quijote, an ALTO member, has campuses in Barcelona, Salamanca, Granada, Tenerife, Madrid and Valencia; a one-time registration fee of 95 euros covers all the schools, so Nick will use his Rail Europe 3-country (Spain, Italy and France) Select Pass for a week of Spanish in another city or two after his 20 hours of class in Granada.
Nick will be blogging about the whole adventure, and we'll let you know what we think about don Quijote.

Hello Kathleen!!
Would you publish an article about Learning Spanish in Guatemala?
It is an excelent option because you submerge yourself in the languaje (Antigua Guatemala and Quetzaltenango are excelent options), plus get to live with a family (Optional) and eat regional foods.
I can give you some links for information.
America Central is getting huge in this area plus great outdoors activities!
Well, you have been here..
I hope you write it!
