You need to see this: Marco van de Kamp, coordinator of the backpacking community Travelers for Travelers, has put together a great guesthouse and hostel search engine, TFTHostels,
which allows you to search an integrated directory all of the major hostel booking websites simultaneously and see combined results for a given city. You can compare beds and rooms by prices or ratings, see current availability, and change currencies with a click. TFTHostels offers user-written reviews, too (meaning you can write 'em), as well as the hostel-supplied info, photos and directions.
This is great: like Kayak for hostels, but without ads and with exactly what you need to find and book hostels and guesthouses from Hostelworld.com, hostelbookers.com, HI Hostels, and more. Totally cool feature: search by country and get a list of cities plus a map for inspiration (reminders while planning of the spots you don't want to miss while traveling). Major thumbs up!
