The 2010 Tour de France is rolling through Europe now, and if you're in that neck of the continent, you need to spectate: follow along out in the countryside for up to nine travel days with a student-discounted France rail pass on sale through July 14 (passes start at $186 for three days, which may be cheaper to buy individual train tickets, or suss out the current French Thalys high speed train special), or catch the great race's cool culmination July 25 on Paris' Champs d'Elysees... and if the City of Light is in your plans at the end of July, keep in mind that Paris may be packed then: book your hostel in advance this very minute with a list of top Paris hostels or use one of our recommended hostel booking websites. Check out the top free things to do in Paris while you're planning, too.

Tour de France winners aren't in it for the moolah, but it sure can't hurt to have a few mil stashed upon retiring, as did uber rider Lance Armstrong after his record seventh victory in 2005. How much do those guys make, anyway?
