Itty bitty little book lights are a great travel accessory -- who'd a thought? Some hostels offer a teeny reading light over your bunk,
but I travel with a carabiner light and multitask it: I hang it over the rung of a hostel bunk for general illumination, curve the bendy head over a book page, or set it flat like a desktop lamp, and I hang it in my tent and my VW van when a lantern's too much. The light put out by the LED bulbs is really pretty amazing --
I clipped the carabiner to a chair to light the shot of my bag perched on a London hostel windowsill at late dusk at right -- shows what powerful candlepower it packs. (Or shows that I had nothing better to do in London than play with my light.)
