Hostels with age limits do exist, but they're more likely to be party palaces than the perfect place to rest a weary head (and if the hostel practices a lockout, not much of a place to rest the day-after headache, either). Those prohibited from joining the fun are generally under sixteen; some rules read that guests over 30 are
verboten, but we've glimpsed geezers in those halls. The average guest age is changing very slightly these days: with baby boomers picking up where they left off on their college era backpacking adventures and the advent of luxurious (you heard me) boutique hostels, you're becoming more likely to see folks of a certain age in hostels.
