Acapulco's Kingdom Youth Hostel is a short walk from a lovely, fairly quiet beach in Puerto Marques, just east of Acapulco proper. While Puerto Marques' water is great for swimming (calmer surf than that of many Acapulco beaches), sometimes a lounge chair by the pool is all you're up for. Hanging around the hostel has something to be said for it.
