Traveler Gary Arndt has been blogging his world travels (34 countries at last count) since March 2007 with tons of background info and interesting observations about his current spot on the map -- a truly informed traveler who's taking time to get to know the world. Absolutely fabulous photos, too. And we love it that he's hauling a Macbook Pro: a flashpacker after our own hearts.

On January 04, 2006, before embarking on a journey that includes seeing 67 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Carolyn McIntyre wrote, "Using the journey of a 14th century Moroccan who traveled throughout the entire Islamic world of his time as the inspiration and starting point, I will set out alone through the Islamic world of the 21st century." Fascinating reading.
