Rock Werchter Music Festival - Belgium
Rock Werchter Concerts Commence July 2, 2009

By , About.com Guide

Rock Werchter in Belgium is one of the top summer concerts in Europe you won't want to miss in 2009. Old school gems like the Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, Social Distortion and Limp Bizkit join newer names like White Lies, The Prodigy and Metro Station as some of the acts headlining Belgium's Rock Werchter, a four-day music festival literally beside the road 15 kilometers from Leuven July 2-5.

Coldplay, The Killers, Bloc Party (worth seeing!), Elbow, Amy McDonald, and White Lies are among the main players on the Main Stage; Lady Gaga, Arsenal (totally happening), Jason Mraz, The Streets, M. Ward, Priscilla Ahn, Henry Rollins and Spoken Word will be among the bands to be there for at the Pyramid Marquee.

75€ daily tickets have already sold out; it's waiting list time (know that tix don't cover 17€ onsite camping).

Getting to Rock Werchter

Buses run to the festival site along the Haachtsesteenweg in Werchter (Belgian province of Flemish Brabant) from Leuven (15km away), and those under 26 ride Belgian rails free; everyone rides Belgian rails free with a Rock Werchter concert ticket.
