Budapest's Hajógyár Kikötö (Shipyard) on the Danube River's Óbudai Island will become its own tent city for the Sziget Festival, Hungary's massive music blast with tons o' stages featuring fun from mainstream to madness starting August 12. The 2009 Sziget Festival features five days of big bands like Faith No More, Primal Scream, Snow Patrol, Placebo, and Prodigy (and more still to be announced), plus players like JET, Die Toten Hosen, Bloc Party, Coldcut, Haydamaky, Fat Boy Slim and Danko Jones making music on the main stage.
Off the main stage, wander to the World Music Main Stage (Amadou & Mariam, Khaled), Wan2 stage (Kistehén Tánczenekar, Babylon Circus, Muchachito Bombo Infierno), MTV Headbangers Ball Rock Stage (Deák Bill Gyula, The Kolin), or Burn Party Arena (Palotai, Eric Prydz). Festival tickets include a week's camping (starts 8/11) amid at least 50,000 folks.
