Bookmark the student travel writing contest site at Glimpse.org for fall entry -- one very good reason to journal when you travel. Enter to win $250 in travel from student travel agency STA as an added bonus for a job well done, which will earn publication for your best student travel writing in Glimpse Quarterly, a periodical featuring student travel writing from those abroad or recently back and reflecting on the journey. The non-profit Glimpse Foundation promotes itself as providing cross-cultural understanding through the experiences of college-age travelers living and studying abroad; writing contest entries, Glimpse says, will "really offer a flavor for the daily realities of life in other countries."

Eleven runners-up take home a Rough Guide travel guide and will see their words in print, too.
