Internet kiosks are a great techno development for travelers. In the spring of 2006, 15 minutes at one of these London internet booths cost one pound, or about $1.70. Expensive, but a handy way to access the internet if you gotta. I used it to find a hostel address. This row of three internet kiosks is in front of London's famous Topman shop. These internet booths have a regular telephone and a keyboard with a trackball. Some public internet stations in London hotels appear to use the same internet provider and keyboards, and the keyboards are iffy at best -- limited characters and a difficult setup for performing your own internet searches. Nonetheless, street internet is a great concept for travelers, and nobody's really complaining.
