Guide Review - Guadalajara's Hostel de Maria
Guadalajara's Nine Corners (Nueve Esquinas) neighborhood is home to cozy Hostel de Maria; lamps light the streets and a locked front door and inner gate provide security. Five 4-8 bed dorms and two private rooms are named after nearby areas like Tlaquepaque and Chapala. Two sunny and very clean bathrooms offer constant hot water; private rooms have pleasant, tiled, private 3/4 baths and working televisions with satellite and remotes.

Check out the Hostel de Maria photo gallery -- more Guadalajara info, too -- scroll below photos to read about it. And learn about the Tequila Bus -- it's a guided trip (about $25) to the town of Tequila, with a tour of agave fields and the Jose Cuervo distillery (and plenty of sampling). Easy to catch the Tequila Bus near the hostel.
