Just inside the Hostel de Maria's front door is a quiet lounge featuring cable TV and tall, deep windows -- good place to kick back and pick up the hostel's free wifi or leaf through the lounge's brochure rack's material on local and Mexico activity of interest to backpackers and independent travelers (the brochure rack even featured Canadian and European rail guides while I was at the Hostal de Maria). Just past the lounge and through an interior gate (locked at night) is a computer room with two machines and free internet, a dorm facing the street, and the hostel's front desk.
