Explorica Mexico Educational Tour Itinerary
- Fly to Mexico City, Mexico.
- Meet the tour director and check into your Mexico City hotel.
- Take a casual walk in Mexico City -- cruise down the Paseo de la Reforma, or Reform Avenue.
- Visit the San Felipe de Jesus church.
- Take a sightseeing tour of Mexico City with a local guide. Includes a trip through the vast zócalo (main square), the beautiful Metropolitan Cathedral, built in honor of the immaculate conception, and see and learn about Diego Rivera murals at the Palacio Nacional.
- Visit Xochimilco (Aztec Floating Gardens) - cruise the canals in colorful boats and check out the nearby market.
- Tour the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe -- learn about the "miracle" and see the beautiful basilica.
- Take a guided excursion through Teotihuacán - climb the Pyramid of the Sun and walk the Avenue of the Dead to the Pyramid of the Moon. Tour the Teotihuacán museum.
- Travel by bus to the colonial town of Taxco after breakfast.
- Visit the lovely Santa Prisca Church with a local guide.
- Learn about Taxco silver and do some informed shopping. Check out your hotel's cute bar and cool mine shaft.
- Travel through the majestic Sierra Madres to Acapulco and hit the Acapulco beaches!
- See Fort San Diego, which is free on Sundays.
- Go"window" shopping at local outdoor mercados (markets).
