If you get off Mexico's cuota roads, or toll roads, and take the libre (free) road, you'll get a chance to see the real country, just as you do on what author William Leastheat Moon called blue highways inthe US. In this instance, a lucky stop on a libre road in the phenonmenally beautiful Mexico state of Michoacan gave a glimpse into the life of a secret artist - who else would arrange food with such an eye for beauty?
