A little chile powder makes everything better in Mexico. I was given a piece of sugar cane at a Guadalajara market freshly whacked off the stalk and served with the options of more sugar, lime and chile powder. The taste combo made for what angels in heaven must eat.
These senoritas are selling chile in just about all its forms in an Acapulco mercado -- roasted whole chiles, powdered chile, chile paste -- and two of Mexico's other finest flavors: canela (Mexican cinnamon, very light and fragrant) and piloncilla (cones of hard sugar).
