Find a Hostel in New York

New York has fewer hostels than you think, and they are incredibly spendy. Choose one in a quiet neighborhood, like the Chelsea International Hostel in Chelsea, midtown Manhattan, and learn to use the buses and creepy but efficient New York subway -- you'll spend less (dorm bunks about $24 in spring 2006) than in uptown Manhattan and still see plenty.

Check out a picture gallery from the Chelsea hostel in New York and a few pictures of New York for budget travelers, and then read a review of the Chelsea Hostel.

Chelsea Hostel Address
The hostel is (hefty) walking distance from Penn Station (Amtrak) across the street from a police station: Walk down 8th Avenue to 20th Street and turn left; Number 251 (brown awning).
251 West 20th Street, New York City, New York 10011
