The zocalo, or square or plaza, in Puerto Vallarta is a wonderful hub of hubbub downtown, presided over by Our Lady of Guadalupe church. I've seen local bands and performers in the zocalo, sipped coffee and eaten ice cream on benches while meeting locals, and generally absorbed some Mexico sun before wandering off to wander the Malecon.
