Lodging in a European castle is generally pretty spendy, but you can find some deals. "Castle" doesn't mean dark and dank, though that can certainly be found if you want an olde world experience. Staying in a centuries-old castle in Europe is worth the bucks if you can swing it - and it can be cheaper than you think! Consider camping for a few nights to scrounge up the scratch for one night in a European castle -- might be an unforgettable sleep. From the Chateau de Jonvilliers website: "A family run bed and breakfast in France, the Chateau de Jonvilliers is not far from Paris, Versailles and Chartres. Nestled in lush woods, this private residence features five comfortable rooms, all with private bathrooms and queen beds." A double room starts at $79 in this stately spot on the southwest side of Paris. Unless you're traveling on lotto winnings, most castles may be out of your reach - but the idea is worth a look! Check out more European castle bed and breakfasts here.
