If you've a yen for a private university, an interesting
article from Forbes points out that the five most expensive universities in the world are in the US -- perhaps yet another reason to study abroad at, for instance, the
American University of Paris -- 23,784 euros ($34,725 USD) for annual tuition and fees, as opposed to
George Washington University in Washington, D.C. ($39,240, according to Forbes). And you could live in Paris. Ohhhh, my. The UK's
University of Buckingham (7,770 pounds or $15,195 USD) or Tokyo's
Aoyama Gakuin University ($11,700 to $16,100 USD), though among the
priciest private schools abroad, are also deals compared to similar US universities, according to Forbes' figures.
EU taxpayers heavily subsidize most European universities -- the highest average annual tuition is $983 (Italy), Forbes says; though that's peanuts for EU residents, it will cost you a bit more -- find out about financial aid to foreign schools through your own college's financial aid office, since options vary hugely, or take a look at some study abroad financing generally available to all.
