Guide Review - LL Bean Leather Travel Shoulder Bag
Back in 1941, 300 American soldiers trained in Asian jungles, prepping for now-legendary combat in World War II skies. These daring volunteer fighter pilots, the Flying Tigers, flew into history after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The leather bomber jackets the pilots wore are the inspiration for LL Bean's Flying Tiger bag, which I love as a travel carry-on; comfy adjustable shoulder strap makes it a handsome bookbag, and padded carry handles turn it into a briefcase. Vintage styling, including antiqued brass hardware, adds a classic touch and distressed full-grain leather suplies sturdy style to tough-on-luggage travelers.
Lots of strategically placed pockets keep all the crucial stuff handy; I especially like the whap-shut-with-authority leather snap flaps over the two front zippered cargo pockets. Leather touches everywehere (interior credit card pockets are even trimmed in leather) mean nothing is half-done on this bag. I found only one piece of velcro in the entire piece, and even that backed a leather strap on an interior cell phone pocket.
I'd fly anywhere with this Tiger.
