Benicassim music festival
- By far the best music festival of the 2009 summer (or at least it promises to be) set on the spanish south coast by the beach. The Benicassim music fest - http://fiberfib.com/ - has long been a favorite but with a line up including Oasis, Kings of Leon, Paul Weller, Franz Ferdinand and The Killers this year makes it a must attend. Only setback is that tickets are long sold out. If you are into Electronic music check the Sonar in Barcelona in second week of June or the very very impressive line-up of Sonica Reloaded near by Rome in August. Don't know the 2009 line-ups for the festivals in Portugal but always a great place to see some wicked acts. some years back you could cruise the country for a month and half with a different festival every week in a different part of the country filled with world class acts.

PINKPOP
- It's Pinkpop in the Netherlands. Just ended... with Bruce Springsteen, Killers, Kooks, Mando Diao, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo, The Rifles, White Lies, the TingTings, Madness... Depeche Mode were supposed to play, too. It's the oldest (and the cleanest, they say) festival in Europe. Very friendly atmosphere, fun people.
