What do you think of the current urban hostel trend (more mainstream, more expensive)? Should urban hostels that have gone upscale and mainstream have a different designation than "hostel"? Age limits

Age limits are the answer. Restrict guests in the usual party hostels to 18 to 30 years old and there won't be a problem. Of course, that eliminates some guests.

Yes

Hostels with all the bells and whistles are great and I enjoy them. It's a good idea to give them some sort of a different designation just for fun.
