It Happened Here
- I like It Happened Here. Doesn't provide any help with bookings but once you're there, it tells you interesting things that have happened around you -- historical, movie scenes, famous crimes, etc. Only available for a few cities, but cool and makes me seem smart.

flook - free iPhone travel app
- flook is a local search and discovery tool. It lets you can discover places to go, things to do, restaurants and bars, local secrets, events - all the coolest things around you. flook shows a stream of full screen cards that you can simply swipe though, rather like an ultra-local "What's On" magazine.

It features an extensive, customizable catalog, several handy sample lists that can be used as templates, and unlimited, 100% customizable packing lists. Fring for iPhone--for texting and calls
- Use Fring for iPhone--it is much easier than using a phone or unlocking and it has the country codes built in. After trying to use the phone for direct calls either solo or with calling card codes, Fring worked much more reliably. In addition, AT&T's international data plan for iPhones does not include texting so if you want to text internationally, Fring beats AT&T's 50 cents per text fees and the text notice pops up on your iPhone.
